The interpreter is the person who will make a conversation possible between people who do not speak the same language. So he has to render orally in a different language the exact message that was expressed in another language.
All our interpreters are free lance professionals with several years of experience. Our teams are selected with due consideration of passive and active languages and the topics of the meeting. Some of our interpreters are specialised in medical translations for instance. Insofar as possible, our regular clients can also use the services of the same interpreters for all their meetings.
Several types of interpretation are possible:
- Simultaneous interpretation:
Interpreters normally work in pairs and in a booth (for any meeting lasting longer than 1 hour) with headsets and microphones, and translate in real time while the speaker is speaking. One channel is allotted to each language and infra-red headphones make it possible for the participants to choose a language. This type of interpretation requires technical equipment with a technician on hand for a large meeting, or just an wireless Infoport system for a smaller meeting of up to approximately 20 to 40 participants. The latter can be brought and used directly by the interpreter himself.
In some cases, when one or two persons only require translation, the interpreter (who works alone in that case) can also whisper for a particular participant.
- Consecutive interpretation:
One or two interpreter(s) translate(s) after the speaker has spoken (i.e. after his presentation or part of his presentation and with the help of a few notes). In that case, he will not give a full, word-for-word translation of the speech. This type of interpretation does not require any technical equipment.
During a conversation, the interpreter can also translate after each intervention. This will also be done after the speaker has spoken. This type of interpretation does not require any technical equipment.
Generally we are able to cover all languages, from English to Russian, including Spanish, Italian, Greek... and of course we specialize in French and Dutch.

We also work with a team of Scandinavian interpreters who are all AIIC members. Each year they provide interpretation services in several European Works’ Councils for our agency.
The same goes for our Polish interpreters.
All our interpreters work on a regular basis in public and official institutions, like the European Parliament, the Committee of Regions and are often accredited in these institutions.
